October 16 - 19, 2003
This
begins our coverage of Biketoberfest 2003 in Daytona Beach. It was
just the opposite of Bike Week: The weather was absolutely gorgeous and
we got to ride and party with our readers. It was great. Can't wait til
Bike Week 2004! We'd love to hear from you. If ya got pictures or
comments, drop us an e-mail here:

Once
again we set up our Dixie Biker HQs at The Black Hills Saloon on US 1,
seven miles south of Main Street. And, once again, y'all made it a
point to stop by and see us and party a little bit. Thank you very
much. We appre- ciate it! Thanks also to the fine folks at The Black
Hills Saloon for havin' us.
The Lovely Shalya. You can see more of her at Rachels South in Orlando. |
Before
Biketoberfest, we advertised the Black Hills Saloon as the "Home of
Chicks and Choppers." After Biketoberfest, we're gonna hafta call our-
selves the Home of Chicks, Choppers and Superheros!
Thanks to our good friends Allen and Roxie at Central Florida Chop-
pers, we got a surprise visit from Wonder Woman. She's still HOT!

October 11 - 20, 2002 - Daytona Beach, FL
Biketoberfest 2002 started for us back in June when we were contacted by the fine folks that decided to start something new: Black Hills. Yep, 'at's right - Black Hills right here in Daytona. Four months, hundreds of hours of work and we got something good goin' for bikers. If you haven't seen everything we got goin' on, click here: Black Hills Biketoberfest.

In the beginning ...:
A Logo and design idea plus about five acres on US 1 beside Will's Honkytonk in Port Orange. Eight miles south of Main Street Madness. John B. and Johnny the Flea brought it all together to make a new Biker's Hot Spot for Biketoberfest.

Thanks Steve and Jimmy for the awesome
art for our Inaugural Black Hill's T-shirt.

Mostly Tropical Tattoo and Their Ol' Skool Chopper Show
Where in the hell was everyone? That's the question everyone was askin' after this year's Biketoberfest non-event. Well, it was still an event but Dixie Biker's reputation is for tellin' it like it is, so that's what we're gonna do. No spin, no hype. (Right - Looking West over the Main Street Bridge, Friday around 5 o'clock.)
Daytona Beach was dead! Empty. Vacancy signs on almost all hotels along A1A and Hwy 1. Shops, vendors, restaurants and bars all tellin' us business was way off. Shoot, we could hardly find full parking lots anywere, including Main Street.
Hmmm. . . Hurricane Wilma? Reminders of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita? Or is that maybe, just maybe, the bikers are gettin' Daytona's message to us for the past couple of years. In case you've not been here lately, that message is:
"Come on down and spend some serious money while we rip off vendors with high fees; have our police hassle you for minor bullshit things; and, oh, by the way, ride QUIET."
